What is the impact of testosterone on bone health?

Testosterone plays a crucial role in maintaining bone health. It stimulates bone formation by promoting the activity of osteoblasts, the cells responsible for building new bone tissue.


Additionally, testosterone inhibits bone resorption, the process by which bone tissue is broken down and reabsorbed by the body. This dual effect helps maintain bone density and strength.


Consequently, low testosterone levels are associated with decreased bone mineral density, leading to an increased risk of osteoporosis and fractures.
