Testosterone plays a crucial role in libido and sexual function for both men and women. In men, testosterone enhances sexual desire, stimulates the brain centers responsible for sexual arousal, and promotes erectile function by increasing blood flow to the genital area.
In women, although testosterone levels are lower, it still contributes to sexual desire and arousal, supporting healthy genital blood flow and sensitivity. Imbalances in testosterone levels can lead to decreased libido and sexual interest in both genders.
